A Peek into the Washington National Cathedral
I was over at the Washington National Cathedral earlier this week for a family/baby portrait shoot in the Cathedral gardens. I got there a little early to do some scouting, but had just a minute or two for a peek inside the cathedral itself. I didn’t have time to set up a tripod, so this was a quick shot handheld at ISO 400, aperture f/4, and shutter speed of 1/15 seconds. I processed the RAW file in Lightroom using a mix of overexposure, increased blacks, lots of fill, and a boost of clarity and vibrance, topped off by some desaturation. Beautiful, isn’t it?

A chandelier hangs above the entrance to the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Of neogothic design and architecture, the cathedral is the sixth largest in the world and second largest in the United States.
